A field service app built for security and alarm companies

The panel and its serial recorded at the address, a photograph of every device as it was mounted, and the history a technician needs before touching somebody else’s installation.

Alarm work is remembered work. A system installed once gets serviced for a decade, usually by somebody who wasn’t there when it went in, and the questions that come back to the office are always the same — what panel is it, where are the devices, who put it in, and what has been done since. ProTechCam keeps that where the next technician will find it.

The panel, recorded once

A takeover or a service call starts with knowing what is on the wall. ProTechCam records the equipment model and serial against the customer’s address, so the panel, its version and the account it belongs to are captured on the first visit and read back on every one after.

That matters most on a system your company did not install. The technician arrives knowing what they are opening rather than finding out in the dark with a torch.

Where every device actually went

Contacts in door frames, motions in corners, sirens in lofts, cameras on soffits. Six months later nobody remembers, and the customer certainly doesn’t. The app captures before & after photos with a GPS time stamp, so where a device was mounted is a photograph rather than an argument.

It is also what settles a damage claim. A photograph taken as you left shows the ceiling you left behind.

False alarms and what was found

When a customer is being fined for false alarms, the useful record is what the technician found on each visit. Technicians take voice-to-text service notes — spoken on site, filed against the job — so the pattern is readable months later instead of living in somebody’s memory.

Signed off at the door

The app takes a customer signature on the job, so a completed installation or a service visit is acknowledged at the property rather than chased afterwards. Technicians clock in and out per job, which is what tells the office where the day actually went.

Estimate to invoice

Office Pro turns a survey into an estimate, gets it signed, converts the approved estimate into a work order, and invoices when the work is done. Customers can pay by card through Stripe and the money lands in your own bank account — ProTechCam takes nothing out of it.

What ProTechCam isn’t

It is not a monitoring platform. It does not receive alarm signals, it does not dispatch police or fire, and it is not a central station — that is life-safety work and it belongs with your monitoring provider. ProTechCam is the record of what your technicians did at the property. If you are shopping for a full operations platform instead, our pricing comparison shows what the larger ones charge.

Common questions

Does this replace our monitoring centre?

No, and it must not be confused with one. Monitoring receives alarm signals and dispatches emergency services. ProTechCam records the service and installation work your technicians do at the property.

Can a technician see what was installed before they arrive?

Yes. Equipment, photographs, notes and past visits are all held against the customer’s address, so a takeover or a service call starts with the history rather than a guess.

What does it cost for three technicians?

$42 a month at $14 each, with no seat minimum and a free 14-day trial. Office Pro adds estimates, invoicing and card payments for $79 a month including two office logins.

Do we need the office plan to use the technician app?

No. The $14 technician app works on its own. Office Pro is only needed for estimates, invoices and taking card payments.
