Appliance repair is a volume trade. Several calls a day, a different machine at each one, and almost every decision — is the part worth ordering, is it still under warranty, have we been here before — hangs on a model and serial number read off a tag behind the machine. Capture it once and it stops costing you the trip.
Model and serial, off the tag and done with
ProTechCam records the equipment model and serial against the customer’s address. The tag gets read once, on the first visit, and every technician after that arrives knowing what machine is in the kitchen.
That is the number the parts supplier asks for and the number the manufacturer asks for. Not having it is what turns one visit into two.
The fault, photographed before you touched it
The app captures before & after photos with a GPS time stamp. On a machine that has flooded a laundry room, or a door seal a customer says was already torn, the photograph you took on arrival is the whole conversation.
Have we been to this machine before?
Every visit adds to the record at that address. A second call on the same appliance opens with what was done last time and which part went in — rather than a technician standing in a kitchen trying to remember whether it was them.
Notes at the volume the job runs at
Six calls in a day does not leave time for writing things up. Technicians take voice-to-text service notes between jobs, and the office sees them through live office sync without ringing anybody. Technicians clock in and out per job, so the day’s route can be seen without a phone call.
Estimate to invoice
Office Pro turns a diagnosis into an estimate, gets it signed on the doorstep, converts the approved estimate into a work order and invoices when the repair is done. Card payments run through Stripe into your own bank account — ProTechCam takes nothing from it.
What ProTechCam isn’t
It does not order parts, it does not hold a parts inventory, and it does not submit warranty claims to a manufacturer. It captures the numbers those things need and keeps the record of the visit. If a full operations platform is what you are after, our pricing comparison shows what the bigger ones charge.
Common questions
Does it capture the model and serial number?
Yes. Equipment model and serial are recorded against the customer’s address, so the tag is read once and available to the office, the parts counter and the next technician.
Can a technician see whether we have been to this appliance before?
Yes. Job history, photographs and notes are held against the address, so a repeat call opens with what was done last time.
What does it cost for three technicians?
$42 a month at $14 each, with no seat minimum and a free 14-day trial. Office Pro adds estimates, invoicing and card payments for $79 a month including two office logins.
Do we need the office plan to use the technician app?
No. The $14 technician app works on its own. Office Pro is only needed for estimates, invoices and taking card payments.
